What's in your Bosworth Social Security Analysis Report

It compares thousands of claiming options and shows you, in black and white, what each choice pays.

The report is education about Social Security. Your official benefit statement is always available free at ssa.gov/myaccount.

What is the color of your money?

Money you can count on, or money you hope will be there?

When you were working, your paycheck covered the bills. In retirement, the big question is how much of your monthly income is money you can count on.

Green money

  • Money you can count on
  • Social Security and pensions
  • Lifetime income from an insurance company, backed by its claims-paying ability
  • Built for the income years

Red money

  • Money you hope will be there
  • It can go up and down
  • No minimum guarantee
  • Built for the working and saving years

Filling the gap, in plain English

What a fixed index annuity is, and what it isn't

Social Security usually covers only part of the bills. For many of Steve's clients, the rest of the gap is filled with a fixed index annuity with a lifetime income benefit. Steve says that plainly, because he doesn't believe in hiding what something is.

What it is

  • An insurance contract, not an investment
  • Designed to pay you income for as long as you live, like a pension you set up for yourself
  • Your money is protected from market losses
  • Guarantees are backed by the financial strength and claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company

What to know

  • It's not right for everyone, and not for money you'll need soon
  • Contracts have surrender periods and limits on withdrawals
  • The optional income benefit can carry a yearly cost
  • Not FDIC insured and not a bank deposit

Steve compares options side by side from many highly rated insurance companies, explains every cost in writing, and has one rule: no one buys until they can explain it back to him.

Meet Steve and Michelle

Why Steve does this work

Around 2009, Steve's grandmother trusted the wrong person with her retirement. She lost everything, including the house she had lived in for 40 years. That's why Steve moved into retirement income, and why he works the way he does.

Steve and his wife Michelle run Bosworth Financial Group in downtown Tampa. Most people meet Steve at the Social Security classes he teaches at rec centers around Tampa Bay. No steak dinners, just a classroom and the facts. They meet clients at their office or at the client's kitchen table, and they service every client personally, year after year.

Your questions

Questions people ask

Will I be pressured to buy something?

No. Your report is yours to keep either way. If you'd rather not hear from us again, just say so and we won't bother you.

Do I need a computer or video call?

No. It's a regular phone call. Steve calls you at the time you choose.

What should I have ready?

If you can, your estimated benefit at full retirement age from ssa.gov/myaccount or your latest Social Security statement. If you can't find it, that's fine. Steve will help.

Can my spouse join?

Yes, please. Decisions about Social Security and income affect both of you.

I already work with someone. Is that a problem?

Not at all. A second look is smart with something this important.

Are you with the Social Security Administration?

No. Bosworth Financial Group is a private insurance agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Social Security Administration or any government agency.

Do you sell annuities?

Yes. Bosworth Financial Group is an insurance agency. At your appointment you may receive information about insurance products, including annuities. If one fits, he'll show you the options side by side. If not, he'll tell you.

What if I buy an annuity and change my mind?

Florida law gives you 21 days after you receive a new annuity contract to cancel it for a full refund of your premium.
